Chloé International SAS
Avenue Percier 5-7,
75008 Paris, France
Since its inception in 1952, the luxury label Chloé has been synonymous with an easy, wearable chicness.
The Chloé label was founded in 1952 by the Egyptian designer Gaby Aghion. Her goal was to eschew the fashion formalities of the previous decades and focus on designing pliable clothing flattering to the feminine form. Aghion was the first designer to merge high fashion and convenience. Her concept of ready to wear clothing would forever change the way in which fashion is merchandised and consumed.
Despite having a variety of creative directors from exceptionally different backgrounds, the brand has kept true to an underlying current of easy luxury and femininity. More than any other high end fashion house, Chloé has taken risks with creative directors. Many of them have been unknowns or altogether new to the fashion world. Each has stifled the criticism with fresh, true designs and elevated the brand in their turn. The easy grace of the Chloé brand has attracted several top designers who have left their unmistakable mark on the house.
Today, Chloé continues to be a leader in the world of couture. The spirit on which the brand was founded, carries on. Each year the collections contain the same feminine ingenuity which pervaded Aghions’s very first show, held at a small Paris café. A line of handbags and accessories introduced in 2002 has extended the relevance of the brand beyond clothing. Creative director, Phoebe Philo, introduced the first wildly successful handbag to the house of Chloé.
The romantic, carefree style that defines Chloe continues to attract fashion connoisseurs and keeps them coming back to the brand season after season.
