Stella McCartney

The fashion world has spoken loudly and it is in love with the tailored attention to detail paired with the unwavering commitment to the environment by one of London's youngest designers. Stella McCartney is fashion's neo-romantic goddess.

Invading the scene in 1995, an ambitious McCartney solicited the help of her friend and colleague Kate Moss who modeled her designs at her college final fashion show at Central St. Martins College of Art in London. At the show, her famous father, Beetles member Paul McCartney offered his support.

McCartney was quickly appointed to the Paris fashion house Chloé in 1997. Critics publicly disagreed with the decision and the fashion world watched anxiously to witness if the new designer could make it on her own without the influence of her famous father. McCartney set new sales records to launch Chloé forward beyond its past records of excellence . Her influence restored the Paris icon back to the top position it had held in the 1970s, as the leading brand on the market.

The Style

McCartney launched her solo label in 2012, Stella McCartney. The look is a mixture of romanticism meets polished avant-garde. Fabrics and colors are perfectly fluid with embellishments such as lace infused with subtle masculine details. Today the McCartney label is sold in more than fifty countries.

McCartney is respected by the industry for her commitment to the environmental issues. She bans the use of leather and fur in her creations and in the designs of her sport collection for Adidas and the Olympic Apparel for Summer 2012. For her coveted creations and her conviction to protect the environment, McCartney is highly celebrated in the world of fashion.
